After a year of lockdown I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be on tour this year with the super fun show, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”
– a laugh-riot of a night out, packed with all your favourinte night out bangers, including “I’m In The Mood For Dancing”, “Holding Out For A Hero”, “9 to 5” and of course, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”!
I’ll be understudying the inimitable Maureen Nolan and the fantastic Leanne Jones, so get your wine glasses topped up, break out your dancing shoes and get your tickets here: http://www.justwannahavefun.co.uk/
Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum!
I’m back in the UK after completing a short contract onboard the “Voyages to Antiquity” cruise ship, MV Aegean Odyssey.
The ship sailed around the Greek Islands and then up to Venice via Dubrovnik and Split, but despite the glorious weather, I still didn’t catch a tan due to my over-zealous applications of SPF50 and my glorious red sunhat.
I did however, work with some truly fantastic musicians onboard, especially Nicolai, the pianist, with whom I performed between 2 and 3 daily sets. Each week we put together and performed fourteen 45 minute jazz, swing and pop set lists, lured the double bassists from the classical trio to join us for a jazz trio set and then combined the duo and trio for a musical theatre extravaganza.
Before sailing I was sent on a training course, so I am now fully STCW certified – hooray!
New Year, New Me
Not quite a new me, but a new persona, certainly – Miss Cherry Louise.
I was booked NYE to perform at a beautiful Italian restaurant in Hull. Al Porto is right on the marina and has wonderful waterside views. (The perfect place to use my new PA system)
The owners, Rachel and Imran, run a tight ship and it pays off; great food, good company and they asked for both a vintage jazz set and a more dance-based pop set so we all jived our way into 2018!
